how to update the game manually?

I had made a copy of my data folder before the patch was released and now I want to use the copy I made but the last patch is not installed in it. Can someone help me install the patch manually?

Copy it into the steamapps folder and let it autopatch?

Is it supposed to update by itself?

Yep, Steam is supposed to do that for you.

Launch steam online
Right click the ETW game
select View Downloadable Content
Choose the 'update tab'
select 'View ETW Update History'
