How do you know which units can hide?
Where can you look to see how much ammunition they have?
Perhaps, the latter may solve the riddle why some of my troops line up and refuse to fire after a while!

1: Skirmishers can hide and rly depends on testing.
2: There is a green bar in the unit interface which is the amount of ammunation they have left.
3: is normally a bit buggy or might be because like 40 of your troops are in melee.

A legend is only a legend when alot of people talks about him. So far no one meets this requirement except Zyphlan

Zyphlan is a legend, you don't need to be popular to be legendary .
They say real legends never die, and if screen shots can be believed, it would appear he has arisen to revisit unspeakable horrors on all who would oppose him!
Check to see if "fire at will" is on as well. Also, Long Rifle Men and W. Jaegers from Austria have the ability to walk while stealthed.
If you play a single player battle you can add each unit to the battle. Then when in the battle just right click to get the unit card up then look at there abilities. It would ahve been good if they had a encyclopaedia like civ.
