    Default Mysterious Marathans

When i played 180 turn Marathan campaign i noticed unlike the other major factions, the Indians Speak English!, or a mix, i know for a fact they say "yes sire" in a hilarious accent but then continue with complete Indian garble. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I heard one of my Maratha Gemerals say "Yes, Milord?"...

But then, the Germans all say "sir", which is nonsense too...

Yeah, that struck me a bit too. If they started as a protectorate, it might have made sense but this is just laughable...

Funny though Maybe they first did the game all in english, then forgot to remove the english parts for these guys whendoing "every nation speaking it's own language"

Btw, do minor nations have dialogues in their own language?

    Sadly, no.
Hopefully a point for modding in the future maybe?

I once saw an Indian movie with loads of random English catchphrases in. This weird Indian general was speaking Indian just fine one moment and then burst out with "Oh my God!!". Was it set in a different century? Yes perhaps but it was an Indian GENERAL. Thus CA fear not, you are forgiven, put the lawyers away.

Modders are rarely rushed to release their products though.

but how many modders can speak all these languages and sound good enough to have their voice worth being in the game as a mod? this is something that we may not be able to fix so easily as other issues

That's why I had to turn of the voices when I tried out the Fourth Age mod for Barbarian voices, some of the voices were just to "nerdy" or high pitched for my tastes...

This is all BS. I mean, the fact that Marathas speak english like waiters of indian restaurants in London (as in bad TV movies, not even reality) is simply caricatural and shows the real image that westerners have of Indians: colonized people or coolies.

This is low from CA and It sucks but I'm sure It's unwanted. There isn't any historical explanation to that except prejudices, again.

I'll pass on the fact that only european minor factions have their own language, the others being trashed (Persians for example).

But hey, It's not the end of the world

Why is it, when faced with something that could be attributed to incompetence rather than malice people tend to have the need to make sweeping generalisations? Will you make a complaint to the HRC, on the basis that Indian people are being unfairly represented in a video game because occasionally they speak English?

Apparently all Westerners are guilty by association of prejudice, colonisation, slavery, murder, exploitation. We can't take that back, but you can make up with it with hundreds of years of seething resentment!

    Are you cool, man?

HRC? WTF?! Why? I was just giving an opinion here, of course it's a simple mistake, I wrote that it wasn't intentional so please don't caricature my opinion but hey it just reveals a certain image of indians (and furthermore 3rd world people) carried out by teenage silly movies and bad TV series that's all and I repeat this is not the end of the world. No resentment just that, again... Did you see that british TV reality show where an indian woman got badly trashed with racist prejudice? I'm talking about now, not the past. But hey It can be both ways...

About the past, well... Vae Victis!
Sorry for the OT I felt like I had to justify and clarify some point
