Has anyone released a mod through steam?

Like countless of other mods, Steam allowed modders to distribute their mods through steam. So, have anyone tried to upload their mods on steam? The download speed seems to be faster on steam.

I'm not sure why steam gets so much flak, I have steam for years and have had very little bother, I have some great mods that are good fun as well and they installed first time without any hassle at all, it would be great if Empire could take advantage of this.

They get the flak because they screw good things up.
The screwed the pre order, They screwed the install for the CD owners.

the game still installs from the cd, it just registers on steam.

As far as i know, so far only Source-Engine mods are released on steam and only ones that stand out and are pretty finished. So i guess even if they expand that offer in the future only big Total Conversions like EB will qualify. There are downsides of course since you have to go through valve when you want an update to be released which can take some time. But thats an issue regular developers have to put up with steam as well.

Steam has been fine for me, I hope the big mod's can be uploaded on Steam.

I'm fairly sure that anyone who bothers to release it on steam will release it as a mod pack as well, thus solving the problem of people whining about steam.
