Fire by rank

Hey there

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what, but I'll ask here first..

Ive researched the Fire by Rank thing quite a few years ago in my current campaign, and it worked fine, now I am at the year 1735 more or less and i just noticed in my last battle that my units no longer fire by rank, just the first line of guys fire.. So it seems it stopped working, does the Fire by Rank go out of fashion or whats up? :S

I don't suppose you're shooting at cavalry are you? Units firing on cavalry will ignore fire by rank and just let the first rank pour it on at will.

Not every unit can fire by rank. Militia, citizenry, those kinds of troops won't do it.

No its my Swedish Line Infantry, so they should..

But R4nd0M might be on to something, it might have been cavalry I was fighting at the time... Crimean rebels... so that would explain it, I'll have another look when I get home, but I think that might be the case then

You might have researched Platoon Fire without knowing it?

It still is a bug though.

They should fire by rank at cav

Yeah, maybe so.. its a bit weird that hey dont fire by rank at Cav :S

And whats the delio with cannons wiping out half your own unit when they follow and target an enemy Cav unit that tries to flank? :O
As the enemy Cav rides around your army the cannos follow and rotate with them, then BOOM grain shot right in the side of one of your line units, trust me, it HURTS

You would think they would check line of sight before blasting away, maybe they are just nearsighted

Well, hope theyll fix that then
