anyone else gotten any strange protectorates?

Whats happened to the Great Britain flag?

I have Denmark, Hanover, Westphalia, the Italian states and the Knights of St. John as my protectorates in my Dutch GC. My dutch empire only actually consists of 6 nations. My protectorates make up about 15 other regions.

That's the British Republic flag.

As the United Provinces, I paid off both Westphalia and Hannover to be my protectorates. It only cost about 6000 each, but it was after a long sequence of exchanging military access and a couple of gifts.

Well, with Great Britain a republic, it would seem pointless. Wouldn't that imply some sort of Federal or Democratic system in which they would have representation and a modicum of self-government!

He's playing the Grand Campaign as Great Britain. Boston likely rebelled and became the United States, while the remaining colonies remained loyal.

ya i had not done the mission required to get the 13 colonies under british rule yet, and they appeared in virginia.

yes they are still hostile, but they are +23 on their standing to me, so hostile must be hard coded or something, anyways, they never broke away and its like 1790 or something now
