Knowledge is a deadly friend, if no one sets the rules. The fate of all mankind I see, is in the hands of fools - King Crimson's Epitaph.

Looked below average.
Edit: I forgot to mention, robot messiah will lead humanity to the promised land, forget all the previous canon material about John Connor saving humanity!
I think it will be a great movie, I don't think they would stray from cannon too much.

Popcorn flick. Expect some characterisation amidst bullets and bombs and powpowpow!
Nice. Looks cool, Im sure theyll milk it into a trilogy about the war.
Seems like it will be an enjoyable movie.
Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they are in good company.
Kind of looks like Transformers, but nonetheless looks awesome
..Too bad Arnold wont be in it...

Looks like exactly what I've been dying to see in Terminator.
The first and second have all the story and emotion I need, now I wanna see mankind almost wiped out by metallic warriors with glowing red eyes and big guns.

Giant robot is stupid.
There were no giant robots in the other movies like that.
Jeeezus facking christ, it's like the Star Wars movies, just because you have fantasy movies toup the movie with pointless and worthless CGI special effects doesn't mean you should.
*wanders off to watch a Terry Gilliam movie*
Yeah cause the whopping like twelve minutes we saw of the future in the first two movies probably painted the complete picture of what skynet had at it's disposal.
Not to mention, directly because of the events of the previous films, the future depicted in T4 is very different from the future Reese described in the first film. So, of course there's going to be a lot of different things that we've never seen before, even if you ignore the fact that we didn't see much of the post-Judgement Day world in the other films anyway.
No. The events of the first two films have no relation to the changing of the future. As far as anyone is concerned, it is a deterministic world.
John Connor could not have been born if the Terminator had not been sent back and Reese to stop him. Skynet couldn't have been born if the Terminator hadn't been sent back to kill Sarah Connor.
Again, the events of the second movie also do not change the future at all. If the Terminator had not been sent back, John Connor would have lacked the time with his mother, she was locked up and he was with his foster parents. And on top of that he didn't even believe what his destiny was, he would have been totally unprepared.
Everything that happened, had to have happened for the future to happen.
And instead of some dark apocalypse world where John Connor leads a guerrilla war against Skynet, we have a robot with identity crisis that look to be a messianic figure and then we have Skynet rocking out with uber technology that they forged somewhere during their time nuking the surface of the earth...
This movie is just an excuse to suck money out of the masses, whileon the grim and terrifying picture that was painted for us with a bubblegum pop world of bright colors and friendly robots helping out poor John Connor, because he never could lead humanity to victory...no human could...
I hope what we've seen in the trailers is just coincidence and the future is very much like as seen in the originals. Guerilla warfare in city ruins, pickups with lasers attached, mankind living in tunnels and trenches.
Doubt it though.

It really is a bit like Mad Max with robots rather than what we've seen in the originals, considering how many daylight scenes they show and the use of helicopters. I'm still skeptical of McG but we'll see.
Yea im pretty sure the future is set as well. Just because what you say in the previews, doesnt mean there is not ruined fighting in cities. Fact is that the world is a big place, and there are lots of empty areas like the desert that even if you did nuke it, that it wouldnt look that much different.
Hope the guy playing Kyle Reese isn't a d-bag. Michael Biehn was a bad ass and the character holds a special place in my heart since I'm named after him!
This movie will forever be tainted because of this:
Here's the newest trailer that's out. It shows a lot more then the previous ones and paints a clearer picture of what's going on. Important to remember that it's only 2018 in the film vice what 2029 or 2027 from the movies. It's certainly not as dark, but I can't say I mind the lack of the lasers, those were kinda cheesy to me. The TV show did a better job with the plasma rifles then the old movies did, but I think this looks pretty bad ass. Here is the link in case you want to see it full screen in hd.
I kinda liked the lasers actually, they were representing some distant future after all with an unimaginable level of technology and they were wonderful "full auto" lasers, not silly pew-pew star wars lasers.
Here's 10 minutes of footage, apparently put together from released clips:
