Several posters have noted errors in ETW's assignment of resources. Tea, for example, was not a major product in India until the 19th c. and cotton was not commonly grown in the American colonies until the invention of the cotton gin in 1793. Slaves obviously belong as the major export of W Africa and India was an important exporter of opium.

As a resource for modders, it would be helpful to compile some information on the historical export economies of the period. If you have any suggestions, please post them. I can see the following:

*Lumber was an important export in the Americas and the Baltic states
*Rice and Indigo were important export crop along the coast of S Carolina and Georgia
*Tobacco was king in N Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland
*Cotton, Silk, Spice, and Opium were important products in India
