Speed of Sound problem
Don't know if this is a bug or a problem with my set-up but playing english on M/M with the 6.2 patch (but it's not a patch problem I think) the sound of the units when given an order is either speeded up so they sound like they're on helium or s-l-o-w-e-d right down .
I've got a dual core machine and a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatality pro sound card and Vista. All other sounds seem OK. I wonder if the game uses different threads to control the unit sounds as opposed to background music and ambient noise - and it gets out-of-sync on some systems?

That's...odd to say the least. Have you got the correct sound system selected in M2TW? I noticed when I had the wrong version of EAX selected, all my units sounded like they were talking and moving in an opera hall (very echo-y)

Re: Speed of Sound problem
Wrong EAX
could be - as I've just re-installed stainless steel for the umteenth time it's possible I may have forgotten to change the audio prefs in the start up screens.
I'll try summat else.
(I am using ALchemy as with Vista the old way of doing sound was changed by microsoft to stop audio card makers directly addressing the hardware - now has to go through a microsoft software layer first.)

I am getting that sometimes and I don't have Vista. EAX3.

Re: Speed of Sound problem
Seems very intermittent - had no problems at all last night with either English or Aragonese factions.
Suspect it may be something to do with some background task on the second core, but can't prove it.
