    Default Stubborness?

I am playing as Venice, have a little colony going on in Egypt, and I managed to call off their assault and I have a war going on with the Byzantines.

Well they called for a ceasefire but I rejected and took Thessalonica and Constantinople, and I offered a ceasefire and they rejected..

Any idea why? Because I can still destroy them but I want to build up my economy...

Also I wanted to destroy Constantinople but can't demolish the building, do I have to wait a turn to destroy stuff or what?

    Thanks

The refusal to accept a ceasefire sounds more like the dumb AI more than anything- if you haven't already found out for yourself, it can be incredibly moronic. Suicidally.
As for destroying the buildings, I've never heard of that problem myself- is it a 'special' building that you're trying to destroy? (Could be hardcoded)

at least in 6,2 there is some bug with diplomacy , that you for example offer ceasefire to nation which cant defend.. for example have last settlement and you have long ongoing war
anyway you offer ceasefire and they reject.. when they do.. offer exactly same stuff.. and they will say its generous offer and accept

I think hes trying to destroy those epic buildings in constantinople: the great aqueduct and the Vagia Sophia.

You cant dude, theres no way to rebuild those once theyre gone, and if the byzzies lost the hagia, they'd be preety bummed out . Dont worry, the buildings dont do much. Hagia is basicly an epic church, and the aqueduct just gives minor health bonuses (i think). If your scrapping the city, you wont need to worry much about leaving these behind for them. Preety much worthless (except the Hagia gives a cool trait that adds to a chars religion, which is nice)

Hm, that sounds very much like Vanilla. I had the impression from my games that the problem of suicidal AI diplomacy had been fixed in SS. However, AFAIK there are some factors which could still make it impossible to get a ceasefire... your reputation, whether your faction leader has high dread, the number of core or victory enemy provinces you control, etc. It must be something like that, because I managed to get ceasefires for reasonable conditions in SS.
"The cheapest form of pride however is national pride. For it reveals in the one thus afflicted the lack of individual qualities of which he could be proud, while he would not otherwise reach for what he shares with so many millions. He who possesses significant personal merits will rather recognise the defects of his own nation, as he has them constantly before his eyes, most clearly. But that poor blighter who has nothing in the world of which he can be proud, latches onto the last means of being proud, the nation to which he belongs to. Thus he recovers and is now in gratitude ready to defend with hands and feet all errors and follies which are its own."-- Arthur Schopenhauer

I just sacked Constantinople with my crusade-army which was on the way to Cairo and could sell them for 4 k each. Well, I only sold Hagia Sophia, not the Aqueduct, because it seemed silly to sell a 400km long structure. A church you can loot, but an Aqueduct?

You canīt sell streets or walls, but that should be it.

And btw, what have I done to Constantinople? When I left it for good, it generated 426 gold, growth stagnated and people were absolutely pissed off
