    Default Recruitement and units issues

French have access to those 18 pounders horse guard artillery in skirmish battles, but for some reason, they cant during the campaign. I've even try to switch to all kind of governments, but cant seem to find a way to get them, even with all research done.
Is there something i'm missing ?

On the same subject, french special "elite" units are worse than the generic guard unit. Again, is there something i'm missing ? (Seems like they'd be supposed to be Old and Young Guard, but since my french version has an awfull way of translating them, i cant get the english name ...)

The special force edition English unit that is some kind of riflemen unit, is worse than proper Riflemen, is there also something i'm missing ?

Turkish elite infantry is also worse than there advanced classical line infantry, is it working as intended ?

Austrian Grenzer need more research than their Jaegers, but they are both much worse and more expensive than those Jaegers still is it working as designed ?

Thanks for any advice or information

Old & Young guard belong to the Napoleonic period i.e after 1799. The Vieux and Petits Vieux were the oldest and most prestigeous French line regiments in the period covered by E:TW

Wether they were elite units or not is matter of debate but many of the had a distinguised record.

Thanks for the info on those regiments
Anyway, what about the other regiments i mentioned ?
Is there any mod fixing this ?

I've also noticed that light infantry comes just one research before Jaegers/Riflemen, while it's really worse than these ... What's the point in having them ?

Light infantry isn't really worse. they do have a shorter range but they also fire much more rapidly, I usually get more kills with light infantry than riflemen.

So for flanking fire, light inf is actually worth it ?

I am in the process of working on an overhaul of all units.

There is a distinct lack of unique units for factions other than the brits and french. I am reworking the whole unit table will be adding new units. (Thanks to Jam and DrwHem.)

Feel free to PM me any unit ideas you think should be added, and I will be using information from this thread and a couple of other to try and add unique units for every faction and to have all the units properly scale depending on ability.

the machine rifling and the screw breech each takes like 20 turns to research in addition to the build time for the barrack as well, so you will have some time to play with the light infantry for a while.

And there's the fact green jacket and Ferguson(I think, haven't gotten to ferguson) take 2 turn to train and can only be trained in scotland/england. Light infantry is trainable just about everywhere.
