Ottoman Research Tree - Limited?

If one clicks on the building browser for schools, it shows that the highest level of school is the University. There is no Modern University.

Yet, on the research tree, to research Secular Humanism, one requires a Modern Universtiy. Does this mean Ottoman research is limited?

Anyone got this far playing the Ottomans?

U can build mod. university in capital province - check building browser. Yes u must destroy something if u spent spots

Another way would be to steal the tech or get it from a peace deal, but that requires that someone has already researched it. So, you could not invent it yourself.

you can build a Modern University as the Marathens so theres no reason u shouldnt be able to as the Ottomans

CyberVIP is right.

It might be kind of confusing as the Ottomans, since they are one of the few factions that don't start with a school in their capital province. But yeah, you can build it.

That's not all... There are NO towns in the capital province of Rumelia. And even with tax rates at the lowest and farms upgraded, the earliest town takes about 20 turns (!!!) to grow. O_o"
