No this is not a thread about things that explode in the game. I will be using the thread to report the errors and randoms junk that I feel is taking away from my game.

Feel free to comment on any solutions! or not.. doesn't matter, just hope that most of my issues can be fixed in a future patch.

    To Start, system specs;

    Thermaltake Armor case
    ASUS Rampage II Extreme
Evga Geforce 8800 GTX ACS rev3
    Intel i7 940 @ 2.93
    6 Gb DDR 3OCZ Tri-channel (~3 Gbs usable)
1x WD 74 Gb Raptor HDD (10K spin speed) <<<<<<<< Hard Drive is very suspect at this moment, may replace soon.
    1x WD 750Gb HDD
    500 W Enermax PSU
2x 19" LCD monitors in Dual View

    Win XP Pro SP3
I use Riva Tuner and Asus PC Probe II to monitor the system on the 2nd Monitor while I game.

    First Post!

Random things that didn't make the game crash, but are annoying:

-Slow motion walking while attacking Quebec in the campaign, as other have mentioned, it also happened to me.
-EXTREMELY SLOW LOAD TIMES. for everything. Loading the game takes about 5 minutes. Battles take at least 2 or 3 minutes. Switching theatres happens just fine, but there is a one to two minute delay until I can do anything at all.
    - Jerky map scrolling, both on the battle map and the campaign map. The game takes more than a few seconds to scroll in any direction. Same with zooming in and out. It takes a few seconds for the animations to re-go, and I can't do anything while waiting for them. Similar situation whenever I click on the mini map to go to any different area.
** note that I'v adjusted the graphics settings both upwards and down wards, but to no avail. Same issues.

Today I was fighting the Spanish, as the Dutch, on land at a river crossing.

I saw that the river banks were looking quite strange and it seemed like the shores were being stretched into the water..

Then my video driver hit a stop error and the game crashed

Hi all, first post here, i am reading for a pretty long time tough.
I get random crashes occasionally, when i read about game ending bug i was nearly half way trough the game so i destroyed huron and inuit as a precaution.I know it sounds ridiculous but i wanted try/do something.

When i get around year 1759 my crashed and auto-save and quick save that turn bot got corrupt.Luckily i save the game a lot and loaded a save 3 turns earlier.I did my best to work around that could overwhelm the game system(which are a lot i think).I succeeded in the end.Theese are things i did to work-around my game ending crash(The crashing was the white screen, in the end of turn 1759 every time i try to pass turn).

-I had 4 full stack fleets going to India or had pathways to india(theatre change zones)i called back the ones i could.
-There was a rake who's mission was to kill a catholic missionary whos already death, i cancelled his moves.
-There were 2 armies with very long routes(taking 4 turns).
-There was a full stack fleet of first and second rates which was lacking a sloop, i added a sloop to them.

Other than theese there was only construction orders which i did not touch. After theese changes(i dont know which did the trick).İ've managed to get around the repetitive crash on end of the year 1759.
Theese things could be causing anomalies with the game.
And something strange happened, after i started giving my armies, navies and agents short paths to go(1 turn paths), stuttering and jerky move around in campaign map gone away, and ai turns are passing pretty quickly now.

Today, I was playing. Around the middle of my turn, I clicked on a fleet in the Caribbean. It was a single ship and the game CTD.

    Fun.

A strange thing happened right at the beginning of my campaign though.. I took over a territory.. The Rhineland i think, and I lost it on a computer's turn.. and a message popped up saying I'd just lost my campaign... I'm just remembering it now.. It was a bit ridiculous.

I clicked on the same boat. The game crashed. I won't click on it again and see what happens..

I didn't click that boat and so no CTD!

But I've realized that I failed my objective a long time ago .. it is year 1766 now, hopefully the American revolt soon... but I doubt it will happen. At some point the 13 Colonies have become a part of Great Britain! And New Spain is a part of Spain. That is dumb.

Today, I clicked on a fleet off the coast of Portugal, and the game crashed. It had 8 2nd rate ships of the line. Now i can't use them. That sucks

I get just about one kind of crash. While in battle (land and sea alike) if I select a unit very far away, usually a reinforcement unit, and click attack on an ennemy in the main battle it often crashes.
Probably related to a pathfinding issue ? or maybe a strange sound bug ?
The far away unit is trying to play a sound fx but is too far to hear from the main battle. Just a guess.

I was up super late.. still playing as the Dutch. When I defeated the Spanish (had to take Spain AND Gibraltar!!) Mexico came into creation.. I wonder if I attack Britain, and take out London.. will America spawn?

Anyways... clicked a fleet off the coast of Gibraltar.. CTD that makes 3 fleets that I can't touch without the game crashing... :S

Also.. I still can't access the Americans as a faction to play.. I did complete the SP road to independence campaign, but still can't access them. Guess I'll need to get a third party crack.

hey Ruhk, try adding some sloops to thoose un-clickable fleets.

By the way on my second campaign i discovered major lags concerning the navies and game crashes when clicked started with the second rate ship of the lines entering the game, my overseas fleets consisting of third and fourth rates never lags when click on them.I think the problem here is new interception concept, calculating interception causing lags and crashes.

Today, as I was coming ever closer to the end of my campaign, in the middle of Irland's turn, the game Crashed. Hopefully it was a one time event, I don't think I could wipe them out if I had to...

Today, I click on Amsterdam and the game CTD.

Today, a previously unclickable ship was chased by pirates into one of my ports. just for kicks I added a sloop to that port and found I was able to click on it and use it again. Happy day! I will try adding sloops to all the unclickable fleets.

But I clicked a different fleet, and the game CTD

edit: sorry didn't see the notice before posting. I'll do that from now on.

One gets first rates and techs up things like copper hulls(which increases campaign map movement). I have tested this myself.

The real, yet impractical solution to this problem would be to either put a sloop in each armada, or spend $$$ to upgrade your cpu.
I hope that clears things up for you guys. cheers

It is not the CPU... mine is a spanking new i7. 4 cores, 2.92 GHz, no problem there.
So far adding a sloop to each fleet has made them usable. But perhaps I got too used to using them. One of the new accessible fleets I sent to blockade a port.. and of course the game CTD

ps star wars rocks! is your avatar a pic of Canderous as Mandalore in Kotor 2?

Well new update. Through many toils, troubles and terrible crashes I've managed to fight my way to the year 1802. At this point there are only 7 factions left in the world. However when I end my turn, Crimea spawns a rebel army during the AI's turn and retakes their region. This apparently causes a CTD.

This is frustrating as I've just come out of defeating a 3000 strong army of inuit warriors with my army of 1400 colonial fighters. I'm hoping one of these times russia will defend the region capital and not cause the CTD to happen, but it may end up being a game breaker for me. Darn, and I was getting so close to world domination!

Hmm new issue, once again with boats. When I click on a certain fleet ( about 4 ships and a full army loaded on) and tell them to sail fro Europe, i get a CTD. I will experiment with sending them to another theater but I expect the same results.
