Bayonet charge or cavalry?
Hi everyone,
I have question concerning how to deal with native bowmen. It seems like melee combat is the way to go. But which one do you think is more effective? A bayonet charge or cavalry?
Thanks

cav, they are much faster, and hit harder.

Both.
Best method of dealing with melees is breaking their morals.
So pin them down with a bayonet charge and then break them up with cavalry from the flank or the rear.

Most definitely cavalry. Bowmen rout pretty easily when rushed with light cav or dragoons.

Bowmen can also kite your troops along and have longer range. The suggestions above are great. Bowmen simply can't put up a fight against horse, or any other troop that can actually find and catch them.

Lancers are good for bowmen, since generally you want to shock them into routing. Hitting them hard with the lancers gives your grenadiers or line infantry time to advance, fire, and charge.
