    Icon8 Multiplayer Needs So Much More Work

    There is no game lobby.

    You can't chat to selective players in game.

    You can't chat to "team mates only" in the game setup. Or even just selected players.

    There is no army information when you hover the mouse over a unit that tells you who is in control of that army.

    Worse, you can't tell if it is an AI player now in control once a player has left or been dropped. You have to remember who was in control of what army. In a game of up to 8 people, not possible.

    We can't host 1v7, 2v6, 1v3 etc battles any more. You are stuck at 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4.

    You can't choose an integer for the amount of money you have. Just medium or large.

    All of this is a step backwards compared to Medieval 2 and Rome.

    I never thought MP would be worse than what gamespy offered in terms of servers, but this is a half finished game in terms of a MP experience.

    Do you expect any of this to be fixed with a patch?

    If we raise enough of a stink...maybe, though in the past they have never touched MP with a 10 foot pole. Even some of the things that were posted as incentives such as ladders and rankings turned out to be a bust. Stars that mean nothing, and no ladder that can be seen...I feel as though I was lied to yet again.

    I agree with all of what you said except there team chat. You just need to click the little man on the chat box so that he turns red.

    Exactly they couldn't even set that up properly. Try chatting to a teammate and everyone reads it.

    Don't believe me, Carney? Test it yourself.

    Worst game coding I've seen in ages. Even for basic stuff like coloured MP chat to know faction types is gone.

    I am pretty sure they will fix it.

    They will realize that them saying there will be rankings and ladders and hotseat campaign and not being there will ruin their chance of making more money.

    They will probably put it in a patch soon.

    But I agree that this is very lame...

    I'd hope (and think) they do fix all this stuff, but if they don't, we all know what to do with the next TW game if it's not all fixed, don't we ?.......

    Still its a massive downgrade of the MP part compared to previous titles.

    - Cheating/modding at full extent possible with no consequences
    - Missing public lobby/chat/playerlist
    - decentralised servers
    - lack of Maps

    While SP is modable, MP is not and needs patching by CA otherwise it is doomed. The current state will dig the online community an early grave.

    They are releasing the Hotseat for this game, so they might be still working on Multi player aspects of this game. Don't give up hope yet...!

    I agree it's a bit annoying that you can't see who's in command of which army. And for replays, it's annoying not knowing who you played against (unless you save the replay with that player's name). Hopefully the next patch will address that.

    The chat lobby is a mixed bag. I would rather there be an option to see who's online on the same server as you (like an America Online Chat feature as in previous Total War games on Gamespy). The good thing is: you don't have to listen to people talking crap 24 hours a day now.

    I indeed noticed the same in replays so i save them always.

    Vs Somebody so i remember then name.
    Pretty fun too see how people improve over time.
    A legend is only a legend when alot of people talks about him. So far no one meets this requirement except Zyphlan
