    Default RS modding team, what do you want to see in R2TW?

    Despite the fact that RS 2 can be good enough to be labeled as R2TW, there are still some gameplay features and hardcoded stuff that cannot be modded in, without changing the exe file.

    I feel that it will be interesting to hear stuff from the perspective of modders. Would you guys want to see features like being able to push ladders off the wall? Being able to have a region of interception in the campaign map?

    Being able to recruit AOR units, that is able to change its AOR region? Meaning you can set up the base camp or HQ for a legion, and recruit units directly in the field as opposed to recruiting units in the city?

    A campaign governing system that allows you to change from a republic into a monarchy?

    Being able to manage the list scrolls, and see armies labelled as Legio I, Legio II as opposed to the name of the general or captain who's commanding its army?

    Basically, stuff and features the RS team wants to add onto RS2.

    That would be great and to have more stuff like having more family members, and having them have up to 3 or more names or having the cavalry dismount or having soldiers walk backwards instead of turning all the way around (giving ur back to the enemy) and walk forwards were they turned and placing ballistas or catapults on top of the walls and having different looking soldiers in each unit like M2TW and sea battles of course and except I'm not a modder!!!

    I don't know if anybody knows this(maybe the modders of EB) but i have notice since playing battles in EB ,that I'm not even sure if I am imagining stuff but whenever u get the camera close to a unit and wait for a long while some soldier makes a fart and really fast and quietly says, sorry about that. can u believe it, Ive seen it like 3 times already. I have the EBv1.1 with the v1.2(newest version not EB2)

    I'd like dismounted cavalry too, plus mounted infantry from arabia and spain.

    The one I want most is correct recruitment system and separation of different classes of populations, i.e. an unit of royal Macedonian Hypiaspitai should take 10-20 years to feed and train, and only from Macedonian nobles - but it shouldn't occupy the slots in recruitment queue, which should be removed to allow all units to be trained at once IMHO. Also the later legionaries should be recruited among tough country folks (Illyrians and northern Italians?), rather than those weak and whining s in Roma.

    Yeah it's due to changes in animation.

    If it were possible,

    to build more than 1 building at a time IF you have sufficient funds for it instead of queueing it

    Maybe you're the one farting and are looking for others to take the blame....

    I have never seen that whilst playing EB...

    Custom settlements and much more variation in the them, sea battles and variety with and within units are probably the most important things i'd like to see.

    maybe ur that soldier farting in my mens face and disturbing formations and the only dignity they have left after losing morale after a defeat in battleI dont knowits driving me crazy but beleive me if u wait and stare at ur soldiers and if ur patient ull hear that unmistakebol sound of a grown mans fartand then him saying sorry.but have the sound up to hear him say it.

    Seven things (all of which are in E:TW):

    - More logical unit recruitment (i.e. limits to elite units, can recruit militia units more quickly, etc.)

    - Better diplomacy

    - Towns within regions that impact the game

    - Naval battles

    - Technology research

    - Minor factions

    - Cavalry that can dismount

    Better diplomacy?? ur kidding!! Have u played ETW at all?? Far less diplomatic options. Expansion territory penalty causes everybody to hates u and so every ur proposal is denied (peace, trade agrr, alliance, whatever)

    i'm disagree regard limit to elite unit! because in reality the ancient armies had a good core group of elite units such for example as Macedonians Agema phalangites in the battle of pydna that was about 3000 men. I think don't must be a big difference in terms of recruitment's cost between base units and elite units! the risk is not having a good balance building the armies!

    Cherry, that's quite a loaded list. How about -- ability to modify cities, ability to edit the AI, ability to have animation combos?

    As you can see the first two aren't even close to being there in ETW but exist in Medieval 2, and despite the third being a well known ETW feature it exists quite well in Medieval 2 as well. I think you're aiming for fancy forest but fail to see the trees right next to you. M2 is without a doubt by far the better modding platform, and yet minor towns appear as a 'super important' feature just because they're something shiny and new.

    not true. you can only recruit one unit of Coldstream Guards and one unit of the Black Watch as Britain, for example. and the number of units of Hessian line infantry is restricted to a finite amount globally. personally, i'd like there not to be a limit on elite units - named units, fine, but if i want to have a few extra named legions then why shouldn't i?

    even though i am not a modder, i would like to have a table instead of a graph that shows how many people are in your nation, how many soldiers you have, amount of regions(and other nations) instead of just making a rough estimate of these things

    What about unique skins for every general? Ability to get a 1-1 scale for your army, meaning you can actually deploy up to 5000 men and more in a single legion.


    Unlimited units for you to command in a single stack (which the game engine in ETW is able to support without much trouble, and have no huge impact on the game's performance).

    A multiple family tree for every faction, so that you can actually have a proper civil war, as opposed to the 4 different factions of Rome to represent a civil war.

    no modder i am obviously :

    - but being able to tilt unit formations towards the enemy. What I mean is when you for example set up phalanx into an "arrow" formation ( /\ ), you can have unit face North and not North-West and North-East since they are technically facing forward. I know the game does this sometimes on its own(but it breaks formation up), but being able to command that would be a nice and simple touch.
