Just got it and it asked me for the path, since it couldn't find it. Strange, since it is in the steam folder, anyways I told it the path and it detected the mods and packs just fine, but when I click on launch, I get an unhandled exception saying that the value can't be NULL, parameter name: path1.
Well it's in german, but maybe it will help. "Der Wert darf nicht NULL sein." means the value must not be NULL.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

It probably can't find it because the registry keys are in German or some crazy like that. Or maybe the SteamApp numbers for localized versions are different.
But I fixed the crash. I wasn't using the path the user picked when launching the game, only when finding the mods. I'll release a fixed version tonight, but you should be able to play even with the crash - it writes the script before launching the game, so you can just launch it externally.
It's possible you have already answered the question, however I didn't find the answer.
I unzip Mod manager, but the manager doesn't start.
I get these problems details:
" Description:

The files are all together and I use Vista 64 bits. Thank you
I've never heard of so many download problems from SourceForge. If you see "file unavailable" notice that at the top there is the following message:
Are you having problems with the download? Please use this direct link or try another mirror.
I have .NET Framework 1.1 and 3.5 SP1 currently installed when I looked.
2.0 will not run on vista 64
Any ideas? Not really a computer savy dude.. lol
Or perhaps run it through exactly how to run this mod manager
P.S. DL'd mod manager 1.4 and extracted it, then double clicked the .exe
I have Vista 64 and 1.4 works fine for me. What error does it give when you try to run the exe? BTW, I placed the unzipped mod manager folder in the main Empires folder.
System: i5 2500k, 8GB DDR3, 5870, Win7 Pro 64, 60GB SSD + 1TB SATA, X-Fi Pro Elite
Well, I have 3 files: common.dll, ModManager (which is an application file), and ModManager.exe (an xml configuration file).
I click on the .exe and "Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Applications" starts up. If I click on the app file I get a "ModManager has stopped working" message and option to close the program.
Hi, I just downloaded this so I could use the smoke and effects mod and stuff, but it didnt ato detect empire.exe, and I searched my computer for it but couldnt find it, anyoneknow where empire.exe is?
EDIT- I just found it, problem is, Mod Manager still doesnt auto detect and it doesnt allow me to manually choose it as Empire as an application doesnt appear in the avaliable list of items from the data folder
