Default Is There Any Other Countries Like Belgium?

As far as I know Flemish and Walloon are pretty much two countries forced to be one. They have separate language and culture. So is there any other country like Belgium in the sense that its population is relatively evenly divided linguistically and culturally but remains one country?

By the way some people may mention Canada but I think it doesnt really count because the large part of the small French Canada have been mostly Englishized.

The Union of South Africa was in the early to mid 20th century. You had Dutch Afrikaaners and the British Settlers. The British were in the Cape area in the west while the Afrikaaners were pushed eastward, ala Unteerlanders.

Now a days not so much, and since the 50s not so much either, but yes.

The entirety of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Going by large encompassing language and cultural groups you have (N) Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales. Break it down and there are many more. The diversity of constituent nations and peoples in the UK is unmatched(as far as I know)in the Western world.

Scotland/Britain, China, New Zealand, Italy... India is of course the obvious example, about a 10th of the world's languages, different races of people, languages from physically different language families, and completely different culture for each state in one country.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

India has an official language I believe which is Hindi. Moreover, most Indians speak Hindi and it is taught at schools.

I would say Canada is even more split than Belgium. ~50% of the population voted for separation, the feelings in Belgium are no where near that level. And if you think the French part of Canada is "small" you have never seen Alberta. 80% of Canada's population lives in the narrow region along the Saint-lawerance and Great Lakes. The rest, though often remarkably beautiful, is near deserted.

So? India is the epitome of multiculturalism. We have so many different bloody identities.
Gujarati, Tamil, Brahmin, Kshatriya, Bengali, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Punjabi(some punjabis don't even consider being Indians, they believe they belong to Khalistan)

Hindi is the official language but it isn't the only language, there are many many more.

yea i second that, India is almost like a continent, every 10km is like a new language or dialect, 14 official languages and like 1000 dialects of each language. Plus there almost every religion there, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Jewish etc
The country has never even been united in History, until the British took over it. Even now its not completely under control by the government.

Aye, isn't there an issue with the cornish people? I vaguely remember an issue with cornwall and English Heritage, but I can't remember much now.

The Cornish are of 'Brythonic' origin, unlike the 'Germanic' English.

    The UK has several languages:
    -English
    -Scots
    -Scots Gaelic
    -Irish
    -Welsh
    -Manx
    -Cornish

And there are a few others that I think I may have forgotten...

Every country in history is like this.

All countries are constructs. All linguistic groups, ethnic groups, whatever you want to call them are fusions of some other older groups.

The nation is not an absolute. It is but a single word on the pages of history.
