    Default Campaign Map lag

Yesterday I was tweaking my graphics settings, to find a neat balance beetwen graphical coolness and battle sizes. Anyway, I found it, tested it, and kept it.

Today, however, I started a campaign, and its all very laggy, laggier than ever before. The only idea I can think of, is that the graphics settings are the same both for battles and campaign. Thing is, I want to keep the battles cool-looking, and also want to smooth the campaign map.

Is there any way to lower the graphic settings ONLY for campaign map?
You just wasted 4 seconds of your life reading this sentence. You'll read it again because it was so funny and waste another 4. And since you read that sentence, some more disappeared, count this sentence and it's 'nother couple. Good job time waster!

When through making your changes, make your medieval2.preferences.cfg read only.

You said you wanted campaign and battle with different settings. The only thing that you set different is resolution of which can make the campaign laggy if you set it too high.
If you're trying to scroll across the map in a hurry, the things that will lag are higher resolutions, shadows, blooms, unit size, unit detail, buildings, mountains, rocks, trees, glints, antialiasing, get the picture?
If you want the cutesy battle, you have put up with the campaign lag.

Granted. But I was asking why make the .cfg file read-only?
