    Default Isolationism has already happened

There were arguments made during the presidential debates that not policing the world would come back to haunt the U.S. in one way or another. This was in opposition to the often shunned voice in the background of Ron Paul, of course.

We've lost many good friends around the world, and those who remain keep withdrawing from Iraq. Now I ask you, haven't the neo-conservative republicans done half the work?

As long as the other side of the political spectrum finished with the second half.

I wouldn't say we've lost friends around the world though (judging that you're saying our nation-allies, in terms of soldiers and service-men/women all too many) more like we've annoyed a few people... a lot.

The next time someone does something uber-bad or some natural disaster occurs though, the US will be welcomed with open arms.

We have annoyed a lot of people. There was a survey done some time ago showing that most people in the world now see Americans not as a people to emulate but to beware. It's become increasingly notable for those Americans who travel that they are not as welcome as they would have been before the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

We are being socially isolated in a sense when traveling abroad. Sure, foreigners appreciate our money, but if our money starts depreciating at a steadier pace...

It is a telling reminder that you bring up though regarding the aid for disasters...accepting the benefits without the responsibilities is what I'm thinking will still happen - responsibilities here relating to foreigners opinions of us.

Well, seeing as Harper has to keep dealing with stuff from leftists about dropping out of the war, I'm surprised that Fox News "didn't even know that Canada was in the war to begin with"?

It's like they're proud of being ignorant or something.
