unpacking help please!

I have installed about 3 or 4 mods recently over the last week or so (BC, UAI, TLR,AD. All have the exact same problem. Either the small black cmd box pops up for about 2 secs then vanishes on start up or whenever i try to enter a battle, the message read M2tw has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. I have read in quite a few places now that the 2 data files geography cause the problem and need to be unpacked. I have the unpacker with the 1.2 patch, but i dont know how the specify where to unpack the files to so i can edit them. Yes i have read the unpacker readme but it gets all fuzzy when the unpacker cmd box pops up. Any help is greatly appreciated. I just want to play some mods!

The unpacker is easy. Just run the unpack_all.bat and say y to all the prompts. If it unpcks anything less 35,000 or 36,000 files, you got problems.

Then you can delete the two geography files in mentioned in the readme.

it wasnt so much that i didnt know how to unpack, i think the problem was..i unpacked first..then overrode the data in my file with the visual improvements mod, so then i went back to the unpacker to try and unpack the data to a specific file and thats where i got snagged. So i reinstalled and deleted all the old data and im unpacking the orig data atm. Ty vm again for ur time.

hey, im having the same trouble when i try 2 install Anno Domini, can you help by explaining how to "unpack" and stuff i dont really know what that is,

Just follow my instructions in post #2.

Rule number 1, Never unpack unless you're going to need it. It is a headache by itself.

o yes it does lol, without doing my research i assumed i needed to unpack to play all mods. What ensued was 1 week of headaches and no fun lol. Not to mention needlessly bothering the local moderator with questions because of my mistake. But thankfully, the problem is fixed now. I finally figured out how the he** to access my virtual store. (Thank You %appdata% command) and deleted the 2 bothersome buggers. Thanks for all your help irishron, thanks to your guidance the thread can be closed.
