Baron Titles for admirals?

roughly 20 turns ago i recruited a new admiral for my second best stack after the previous admiral well, exploded would be the correct term i think... This new dude was named Edward Hawke and to be honest i dont know if he had this title from the beginning but im pretty sure he hadnt. now his portrait name is aparently Edward Hawke 1st Baron Hawke, strange right?

I had the same thing, with Admiral Hawke. Now I've been recruiting Admirals like crazy trying to get another Baron. I don't know if this is a hold over from a previous version of the game or what, but it would be awesome of nobility was bestowed on good admirals or generals.
