What he's saying is it would be better to rebuild your own country and help your fellow countrymen. It's called tribalism as a posed to globalism. I don't know how you deduct darwinism and racism from his comments.

If I were in the situation where I had to immigrate, I'd go to an English speaking country. But if I for some reason couldn't, I'd most definitely learn the language and some of the culture of my new home. It's called respect and integration. If you have lived on a border state with Mexico, you'd realize how much we're getting screwed over the by the federal government pretty much refusing to do anything to enforce our laws. You know I have no problem with people immigrating here legally and at least showing some interest to learn the language so they can commute. They don't have to accept our culture. I get tired of illegals coming here, taking the labor that could be for people down on their luck or struggling to get out of poverty, and taking the money south of the border. That's just wrong on so many levels.

I know that this whole topic is alluded to Mexican immigrants. Well, if Mexicans did more to end the corruption and hold their government more accountabile they wouldn't need to flood any other countries.

Yes, when my parents arrived in the United States after the fall of the USSR, they immediately got jobs, took courses of English, and absolutely refused teaching my sister and I Russian or speaking it at all. Learning the language is important and necessary as it provides the best opportunities for assimilation and economic benefits (such as better available jobs). As a new Frenchman I would limit my former language as much as possible to reap new rewards in my new nation.

For the nature of hte hypothetical situation I would:

Not become French the second I enter France,
Not take a course in French the second I arrive, however - I personally would not migrate to any country for the sake of it being a prosperous country. I would migrate to a country that offers a rationally viable way to socially intergrate thus creating a more potentially befitting move/experience. Money is not everything.
I would not force anyone to become the nationality of the nation in question, rather I would urge language skills that can be easily learned without the aid of a course. Once you have grapsed the basics of a language I am sure one is able to live a far more fullfilling, or prosperous, life in the country chosen.

A portrayal of economic immigration. What are the rules of France regarding such immigrants? I would suppose the conditions of immigration would be followed. As to the self interest of assimilation, of course I would want to speak the local language and even more so for my children. The entire reason to immigrate is for economic reasons in this example. The grandmother might, but probably would not assimilate as well as the children. If she isold enough to also be out of the work force, there is less reason to be concerned.

Since all of this is obvious and pounded to death in many threads, what is the reason for this revisit to the topic?
