So, I am trying to reinstall Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms after my computer died and I had to get it fixed.

So, I spent two days downloading it all (I had to cancel the download several times) and when it finally gets down, I extract it all, and run setup. Well, all fine there. Then it goes to the preparing install shield. I wait for it to be done.

But when I get to the part where it would start the installation process it says, "You are running a version of Medieval 2 Total War that is not supported by this installers patcher. Please download the latest version from the store of which you purchased."

Well, one problem, I downloaded off Direct2Drive, and they only had a patch for Kingdoms. Not only that, but I don't know anything about patching, OR if I have to put them in order. So this is what I need to know:

Where to download the current version?
Do I have to install them in order? (lets say I have 1.00, do I have to go 1.1, 1.2, then 1.3?)
How do I install a patch persay? I know it tries to open with Winrar, but I don't know what to do.

Talk to Direct2Drive support. They are the only ones that can help you. If you have exceeded their download limit on your purchace, your best bet is to go buy the Gold Edition.

If I am tight on cash, and they can't help. I am screwed over, like Ragnarok on the Gods?

I was wondering if I can just install a patch off a different site. I remember I played this game with Kingdoms before...
