    Default The Sea

Sorry for opening a new thread.

    But one question:
After playing i think 130 turns, having a lot of Navy battles agains... uhm... everybody i always have the same battlefield...

    - wind is always coming from north or south...
    - water is allways calm
    - no rain just sun

so my navy battles are a little boring now... its allways just "a lot of ships fighting a lot of ships, while the sun is shining and the sea is calm" ...
    have i done something wrong?

i think my Admirals become "Sunshine-Fighter"
    somebody else?

I had sea battles by rain, fog and with clear sky, but my adrmirals become mas of trade ship killers.

In most of the seabattles the enemy only fields trade ships. On the one hand it is funny to blow them up, but on the other there is nothing epic about some 2nd and 3rd ships of the line (+the antibug sloop), to pound the out of ships that have less than 100 cannons together.

I encounderd only 5 2nd rate ships in the hole campaign.

    P. s.: Got to 1970 and played France, so a lot of sea battles vs brits, schweden and nederlands.

You are right, one gets the feeling that there is only sunshine. But you will get different weather conditions. I had rain and fog, however never did I have storm conditions like really bad weather. Wind alway changes.. so I suppose you just have to wait!

Anybody had some really nasty bad weather yet ???

One battle in "rough" seas. Not too impressive, but because of the waves the ships turn more slowly and then faster, so it changes the gameplay a bit.

And, of course the fog (pointless with the flags, though) and one snowy battle.

In the Mediterranean, it's often calm. That's only natural.
