Alright, despite the crashes, I'm just gonna give it another go with another campaign, probably sweden. But how do I force a revolt that changes my government type to republic? Also, which is better? Republic or constitutional monarchy? I just totally dislike absolute monarchy. Thanks for help.

overtax the lower class and exempt all other regions except the capital from tax.
there have been loads of threads on this just btw, use the search button
EDIT: for a constitutional monarchy, you have to tax the nobles. for a republic, tax the lower class
