Crash when Revolution succeeds.

It is a big let down, I get a CDT with every successful revolution, it means you can't tech without your people going crazy.
Any way I can fix this? Any help will be appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue with a revolution by 'peasants'. Win the fight for capital with my 'revolution' army, game tries to load a cutscene = FAIL.

Oddly, I did succeed with a revolution by nobles. Interesting thing is it kept my government as Absolute Monarchy. I don't understand that: WHY would nobles keep a system where they are at the mercy of the monarch when they just kicked the previous monarch out? Sure, you could argue nobles have more power in AM, but the fact is the constitutional monarchy evolved in England in part due to nobles wanting more say over the conduct of the empire than was provided in AM.

I'd have it like this:

If government is AM, and rebellion caused by....
- nobles = CM
- peasants = republic

If gov is CM and rebellion by...
- nobles = CM, BUT new monarch installed and whole 'cabinet' booted.
- peasants = rep.

If gov = Rep and rebellion....
- nobles = CM
- peasants = Rep with cabinet booted.

An AM rebellion installs a different king that the nobles like. Thats actually quite historically accurate. Maybe a choice between the two would be nice, though.

Or even better, a choice not to show the video so one can actually go past the revolution choice.

I'm playing france at the moment, got a rebellion and took the rebel side... Crash. Repeated 5+ times, crashed every time. So I picked the monarchy side and wiped out the rebels, which I went past. Some 5 years later, it was time to go again. Joined the rebellion, won - and crashed of course.

I guess I have to keep immense armies to strike down in a rebellion every turn in each of my provinces, research for all I'm worth and then, finally, when the research is done I will wreck all schools and play the game as intended

Surprisingly, my revolution for sweden didn't crash when I turned from monarchy to republic. But when I try it for prussia, yes my game crashed...

If u choose the wrong side in rebellion, then it is game over.. Maybe its the problem? Or u get a real CTD??

I had the same problem, updated my nvidia drivers to 182 which cam out on the 3rd March, and it was fine after that.

Same thing, year 1755, succeeded as peasant rebellion. Tries to load the movie for suceeding, and it CTD's.

Has anyone found a way around this?

Is it possible to turn of the videos? I have a feeling the crash is caused by the video.

Ok, so for anyone's reference if they wish to get around this crash, what I did was simply remove the video causing the issue in "movie.pack" it will most likely be a file called: eur_rep_rev_win.bik

Repack movie.pack, load up your game, and let the turn end. You should get the revolution succeeded message with no video playing, and no CTD.

It's sad that there is just simply a problem with this one movie, it always seems more likely that no one did actually test this game. :p

yes got this as sweden. gamestopper.

i have had successful revolutions in prussia, russia, austria and france without crash. (but had other ctd gamestoppers there. e.g. 5 mins ago a.i. indian tribe turn playing french. nothing works AND THIS IS MY 2. ATTEMPT AT TRYING A FRENCH CAMPAIGN TO THE END WITHOUT SOME PREMATURE GAMESTOPPER grrrr).
