Default For sheer atmosphere and intensity...

    ...You can't beat Broken Crescent.

I've never played such an intense and atmospheric strategy game in my life and I doubt another game will ever match it.

Just imagine being in the blistering heat of the Arabian desert, the sun beating down on you, the sand rising into the air and resisting any movement you might make. That is the kind of atmosphere Broken Crescent provides with its scorching music.

It doesn't matter if other mods or games have more features than Broken Crescent, it really doesn't matter. Broken Crescent cannot be matches for its sheer atmosphere and intensity.

Thank you for delivering such a masterpiece of a game. I mean it when I say that this is the best game I've ever played, it is my favourite game of all time.

BC 1.5, then All Under Heaven, woot this will be great, first as the mongols carving a path all the way to the Turks, or even in AUH, my Moritomo Clan cutting a swathe all the way from China to the very limits of their maps, mwuahhaha which somewhere there at Persia or something.

(Its clickable by the way....An S2 overhaul mod.)

Seriously. Click it. Its the only overhaul mod that's overhauling enough to bring out NEW clans

Well if we can match even a bit of BC's appeal we'll be onto a winner. The whole idea actually was initially pitched as 'where BC end AUH begins' and that is just about true as far our respective maps look. Anyway once its released someone can create a 'complete Eurasian supermod' that allows you take your Minamoto bushi all the way....to Constantinople.

It will be so epic, the universe will imploed because of the awesomeness, the iconic samurai vs knight will finally occur once my armies meet the Crusaders and Muslims.

I would like to add diveristy to this characteristic. That's why I like this mod so much. Vanilla M2TW with it's Europe is quite boring. SS with it's Mediterranean is much better. But BC with it's Asia is breathtaking and unique.

Do you remember "Centurion"? I played it on my Amiga computer, long time ago (on chrono-technological scale). But I won't forget that game, despite there are many far better today. So it will be with Broken Crescent.

    I have to be honest I love this mode more than the game itself! Here are the reasons why;

1)You guys did great research the are very little historical innacurancies unlike the game itself which is full of it.
2)I love the diversity of the units not only in a faction, but the models creating the unit is very diverse. Gives a sense of reality.
3)The trivia you added (via some placeholer buildings, events, traits) really sucks you into the game.
4)I absolutely love the concept of hording in the game!!! I love how you cannot destroy some factions that quick because they horde away to some place else.
5)I really liked the way you guys put a lot of provincies that it is very hard an takes a while to create a vast empire. Very Realistic !!
6)I liked the new traits and ancillaries you guys added it really spices up the gameplay

So, that's it for now guys I'm pretty sure I missed some stuff but I just didn't come to mind right now. THX A LOT FOR THIS MOD!!!

Then i'm guessing you haven't played EB?
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

EB was totally intense and atmospheric, well, until regular CTDs destroyed that atmosphere.
The devs wouldn't admit it but there are a lot of us out there that get CTDs enough to ruin an otherwise great mod.

    Two things:

    1. I don't know why the issue of other mods is raised in an apologistic thread concerning BC. If you want to praise other mods, go to the other mods subforums.

    Just kidding

    2. Well, I do all sorts of things with EB, and I cannot say, that it is affected by regular CTDs. It's a bit less stable than BC, but that's it.

Well, I did. No hard feelings, and still looking forward to EBII.
But for now, I am content to skip ETW and just keep playing BC until BC1.5 comes out.

"WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter, never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy, fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities...they will know: Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Scholar Visari

Third Age comes close, But if you arnt a middle earth fan then BC is the top, NEver have i gotten into a faction as I did with my Hindu people, I remember almost breaking my bong when my most influential faction leader was taken down by a Mongol horse division.... but then, as the Hindu's believe, all things must pass.

Totally agree. Other mods are good, but few of them have a distinctive feel of their own. BC feels like a completely different game from M2TW. (And yes, so does Eb for RTW)

Yeah, BC seems to make me look at my character's traits a lot more than I would otherwise. I remember well this campaign where I had a low authority Sultan and sent him on a rampage to make the other nobles respect him. Poor guy turned into a monster.
