    Default RtI Help

Im p[laying the third chapter and I think I have ran into a problem, but I am not sure. Playing as the Americans (of course), I have won Maine, New York, and Philly, all of a sudden the Iroquois attack me and sack Boston and Albany. Is this supposed to happen? I thought they were allied with me.

In my experience, the Natives seem scripted to always declare war when you've advanced enough in RtI 3rd. For example, the turn after I took Philadelphia, an Iroquois stack spawns out of nowhere and ambushed me. The Cherokees were also spawning when I advanced to Maryland, but when I didn't advance further they just nosed around and didn't declare war. I think it's clearly heavily scripted.

The thing I hate was those Native stacks appear to be script spawned, they come out of nowhere and also appear to be scripted to always attack at a certain point. I welcomed the challenge at first but after a few battles it began to feel very artificial. It feels like CA is admitting their AI is not good enough so they have to revert to scripted spawning and attacks. I mean even mods can do that...

I think it is scripted that the Iroquois attack you after you take a set number of provinces. Just make sure you have garrisons in your cities and they probably won't give you too much trouble. I believe most of the other Native American nations all declare war on you c. 1800.

I agree from my experience that they are scripted to attack you, but they don't "spawn" any armies (no cheating). They've simply been building up their forces. A valuable lesson mate, keep one eye on your enemies in front of you and one on your friends behind you!

While we are on the subject of RTI...why is it that the bulk of the British forces are made up of Natives dressed in redcoats and militia that are loyal to the crown?

Does anyone else have this in their RTI campaign?

I could probably count on one hand that number of British regular Line infantry I've gone up against. What gives?

    Default RtI way too easy!

This is interesting. I've taken Newfoundland, Main, New England, Boston, New York, and Phillidelphia and all the Iroquois are doing is pacing back and forth.I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but so far they've been very sweet.

On the subject of... This campaign seems WAY too easy to me. 10 turns in, I'm building massive armies of professional grade troops and being attacked by small militias. I haven't come close to losing a battle (even when heavily outnumbered). It's basically been a walk over. I don't have my battle diff set very high, but that's just to avoid militia from walking over trained line infantry. Besides the AI's losing this on the campaign map.

I don't remember ALL my history, but as I recall, poor old Georgie (the American one) had a pretty rough time at the office on most days. What did they actually win, about 4 battles during the entire war?

There should be hard obsticals to getting trained troops.
The british should have the best of everything.
I shouldn't be able to dangle my toes in the water without coming nose to nose with a fleet of 1st & 2nd rates.
And I certainly shouldn't be able to waltz all over the Eastern seaboard, smacking down every redcoat standing!

It's tough to balance these things, and I'm not looking for a replay of history (I have the History channel for that). Never the less, I'd say they really missed with this one.

I dunno, it seriously felt like scripted spawn to me. Their region recruitment capacity was like 3 including the shamanic gates(?) but they were churning out 6 or more units from there each turn. I don't have proof but it smelled of foul play.
