    Icon4 Horse artillery question

OK. I`m allmost going crazy and i`m pretty close to smashing my monitor with my head, then trowing my pc through the window and jumping after it to land on it down there.
Here`s the problem: When i`m trying to move the artillery to another more convenient place i click the pack button so that they can pass from firing to moving state. What happens is that the horses are moving ahead of the cannons and i`m waiting my cursor to change from cross to "moving order cursor" but that never happens, cause the dumd arti squad and horses decide to unpack the cannons again. At first i thought that its cause i`ve left the "fire at will" on so the dubasses see enemy in range and decide to overpass my packing order and try a little shooting practice instead. But even when i turned fire at will off, the same thing happens: like they are going to pack, but at some point in the process decide to unpack again, the result i can`t move the horse cavalry at all. Help, cause when i land on my pc i`m gonna commit more serious crimes due to temporary mental disorder caused by E:TW.

I've had that bug. Try ordering them to withdraw, it always works for me (they limber up and then revert to normal, not withdrawing or unlimbering).

Its a known bug. Until fixed best thing to do is click limber and dont select anything else until curser changes to green circle. Not anything, not even another unit. Only do this when you have about 15 seconds to do nothing but wait. Occasionally this doesn't even work.

Ayuh I found that after ordering cannon to unlimber and deploy during battle that they will not limber back up until told to do so and then left alone until completed. if you order them to move while they are limbering up they will take it as a fire order and unlimber and point their cannon in the direction of the order.

The trick is to watch the cursor and not to click anything until that circular "target" cursor turns back into a movement arrow. That won't happen until the battery has gone through its entire "limbering up" animation which takes a several seconds uninterrupted.

    It's a pain

I wrote this for another poster that was just frustrated as hell with artillery.

Horse units unlimber/limber much more slowly because of the extra mounting time and extra ranks of horse. Almost 30 seconds.

Read this, perhaps it will help. As the poster above said, you sometimes have to toggle switches and let it catch up. More details in the post.

Heh, yeah, artillery is...interesting thats for sure. I had a group of hourse artillery crossing a bridge and just as they got to the other side they just fell over dead, for no damn reason! It was pretty funny after the fact!

Its because part of the setup 'fell' off the bridge so they die.

Ive seen it very rarely in RTW too IIRC

Well, sometimes it can be even worse. I had a bug where 3 of my 4 cannons got limbered, but the last one just stayed there, so I couldnt either shoot or move it. Neither retreat nor multiple limber/unlimber commands helped. Happened only once to me thou, but still very annoying, especially when you rely on your artillery. Hopefully limbering gets fixed in next patch.
