hi,
is anyone else having extreme lag when having massive fleet battles? because i seem to be no matter what setting its on which i find odd because i play everything maxed out and land battles seem to run very good. So what id like to know is this a memory issue with fleet battle or could it be my comp just cant handle it on any settingi have the i7, 4gb ram, vista 64bit and a gtx 260 896mb.
cheers.
I run a test a couple of days ago. I setup a sea battle with 2x2 players (4 countries of 8 ships each)
All option to the worst possible. Gale force wind storm and rain etc...
Graphics at 1280x1024 all on Ultra.
I have a core2 CPU with 2Gig RAM
Geforce 9600GT with 512mb
All antialias etc.. set to ON in the windows panel not set to application controled. This could make the difference.
It was running at 9fps at the worse time in close ups.
I captured a video of this.
Thanks for the response, i tryed what you said and it worked up until i clicked start battle. The lag after that was terrible almost unplayable this is starting to become real annoying.
Sea battles are for some reason or another very taxing on your hardware. Why this is I am not 100% sure. The sea itself, the ship models being so detailed, and lets not forget in a decent size ship batle, there's still an army of men there, the sailors, all doing their thing? All being just as detailed as the land battle soldiers. If we are lucky this will be one of the areas CA will look into optimizing.
I also read the detail level option of ships is not working for the time being. So what we see now might be the ultra detailed ships, and maybe that can be lowered in the future to at least high or medium. Then again, what if the ships we see now are in fact the, low detailed version? Uh-Oh. I don't think so though. They look too good for that. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
even if that is the case the lag shouldnt be this badi played the naval battles in the demo and that worked fine however when i try now its like someone just punched my computer in the gut
