Removing factions

like the title says, is there anyway to completely remove factions from the game?

Deleting all references to them in all relevant files should do it.

There's a guide to adding factions in the tutorial section (and I wanna say grneyeddevl may have listed the files necessary to add a faction somewhere once). Just follow that in reverse and remove references to the factions in there. As always, be careful...

That's basically right, go in the reverse order of creating a faction, deleting the appropriate entries one by one.

Deleting factions works, and I've deleted all of them in my mod.

The only thing you have to be concerned about is that you can't double-check your progress in the middle of the removal. You need to do all the steps in one shot, and hope that it works. Back up the files before beginning.
