    Default Dan Carlin's Common Sense

Anybody listen to this guy's podcast? I just discovered it the other day and thought it was pretty good.

For those who don't know, Carlin is a guy who opposes what he sees as a duopoly of American politics by bringing up poignant historical relevances. He also has a Hardcore History podcast that's pretty awesome.

I knew all about this like 2 months ago. Anybody whose smart can see the duopoly effect has taken place ever since Obama called bush a "good guy" and still kept most of his policies.

They're both in bed with each other, and the american people are left being cuckolded. What will their reaction to this awakening be?

Well... it's customary for politicians to do that, I dunno if it's symptomatic of the duopoly.

And Bush is basically "a good guy". He just fell in with the wrong crowd that pressured him into doing things.

Well, i can argue that if being involved with the Blood gang, running around on a killing spree, ign as much in my neighborhood up as much as possible, and then peacefully acceding to the request of the Crips to "butt out now ma dawg, the people have spoken, fo shizzle!" and then giving the gang sign as I left, would qualify me as being a good guy who fell in with the wrong crowd.

In a simpler phrase, that sounds exactly like a convict's mother would say to the judge in order to appease his sentence.

That's what made me think of it, actually. Since December I'd been listening to his stuff.

    And good enough point, Zeph.

Man, the fact that you agree with me on that is scary enough to make the situation worse than I thought. Because there are plenty of pacifists out there that are making up these excuses for our elected officials when it becomes exceedingly clear that they having been leading us away from the representative democracy we were used to in the 90's.

Well I did say "good enough" so we're not in the scary yet...

Clinton wasn't really good though, or representative of democracy.

The thing about Carlin is, despite his protesting that he's independant, I find him quite liberal. Not naseatingly so, just enough that you can notice the tendencies.

One thing he does well however, is use history to backup his claims, which always seem to make sense with history applied. I expecially liked his recent one where he talks about putting a 'nobody' on the vote. Makes sense in a wierd kinda way.
