    Default Influence/Law vs. Local Popularity

As far as I can tell this isn't discussed anywhere so I'm posting this here:

LocalPopularity is almost entirely undocumented in terms of what it's in game effects are. It appears to have no effect outside of a settlement, inside a settlement it's only effect appears to be on public order. Each point of LocalPopularity is equivalent to an 8% order increase. This compares with 5% public order for both Law and Influence (though Law and Influence have other benefits).

Sheesh I did not know this. It would be beneficial for other factions, but how to acquire as I do not know how to trigger this or Senate points? Is there any data on how to acquire/lose points for these things? So 1 point LocalPopularity = 1 point Influence???? With this data, ancilliaries&traits(with this)become more important to Governorship, something I ignored before honestly in my previous Rome game.

5 points of local popularity = 8 points of influence/law in terms of its effect on public order. As mentioned above influence and law have additional benefits that make having them beneficial. To get this effect into the game you'll eed to modify the traits/ancillaries.

Sorry I am confused how many points affect what? "Each point of LocalPopularity is equivalent to an 8% order increase" is what you quote earlier, now 5 points? On the Senate floor it is 1-10 points for The Senate and The People,is this what is refered too here? Which either means +80% order increase or +16%?

Each point of influence = 5% order increase (i.e. + 1 Influence gives 5% order increase)
Each point of law = 5% order increase
Each point of localpopularity = 8% order increase

Therefore every 5 points of localpopularity = 8 points of either influence or law.

The senate and people rating are entirely different and not based on the above at all.

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I'm just intrigued... what are the other benefits of influence and law?

Law reduces corruption and influence increases the number of bodyguards in the persons bodyguard unit.
