Games covering same age with Empire Total War ?

Hi all,

Since my computer is not capable of running ETW, I am looking for some other games that covering same age.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Europa universalis 3 : in nomine(from 1399-18?? never played to the end) is startable in the 18th century and is a really great game and it includes the whole world with every faction playable.

Imperial Glory is the only one that springs to mind for me... Europa Universalis isn't that similar to Total War, at least not on the same level of Imperial Glory.

For a strategic campaign I'd also recommend Europa Universalis 3: In Nomine. If you are looking for a live action tactical game, check out Take Command - Second Manassas. It's an American Civil War game, so it's a little later than ETW, but the tactics are similar. It's an older game so don't expect to be blown away by the graphics, but it's much more realistic than ETW. I played the ETW demo and the battles just feel very arcade like in comparison. There's a demo out, and the full game is only $10, so it's quite a deal. Especially since there are tons of mods and user created maps and battle scenarios all available for free too.

Yes. Civil War games would work. You can see the death of Napoleonic tactics at Gettysburg. (That massive attack on the Union center didn't seem to work there...) Which would still give a Civil War game the same feel as ETW time period.

I didn't like Imperial Glory, I thought at first it was because I found musket v musket boring. But...then I played the ETW demo and that's not why I didn't like Imperial Glory at all! ETW just seems to have the 'feel' nailed spot on, once again.
