Default For KoC in Spangenhelm magazine

    Hello,

I edit the Spangenhelm magazine, a french magazine about military history.
We love For KoC mod and we wrote about it. Below a low resolution picture of the page and an English translation made by someone better than me . Great job for this mod and long life to For King or Country.
    Cheers

    For King or Country
    A gem of a game !

Are you an enthusiastic war and strategy game player ? If so, you most certainly know about the now legendary Total War saga-if not it’s not too late to fill in this sidereal void in your existence ! This acclaimed well-crafted and inventive series has only one flaw: it lacks historical accuracy- for example, The Egyptians in « Rome Total War » look more like Hollywood stars, light years away from the Ptolemaic troops it’s supposed to portray! However, we can understand why the developers, bounded by financial constraints, have decided to release the games to a large public in order to pay off the colossal production expenses. Today indeed, the making of these video games can cost as much as a big budget movie.
This is when the large community of fans comes in. Fans from all around the world teamed up on the net to make up for the disappointment with the historical inaccuracy in the games. They are feverishly developing countless modified versions or mods if you like. If you’ve never heard of these web communities and you’ve only played with the commercial versions of Total War, then you’re enjoying 5% of the game only ! There are of course numerous versions of mods with highly variable quality but don’t panic ! We are here to help you make the most of it by providing you with a list of the best ones.
Let’s us start with For King or country. That mod is such an extensive mix of satisfaction and strong emotions that there is no appropriate word to describe the tremendous work it involved !
For King or country puts you straight into the English Civil War making you the head of the Royalist army or the Parliamentary troops. Most importantly, even if you’re not a big fan of its historical background, the overall quality of the game will definitely win you over.
Based on Medieval II Total War, For King and Country is a complete overhaul of the original version- new units, new campaign maps, new buildings, new background music, new loading screens and new interface. The attention given to details makes you feel like you’re playing a « proper » game. On top of it, the historical reproduction of the uniforms, the battles and the recruitments was skilfully respected.
In fact, For King or Country mod is such an excellent version that it overshadows the original game. The developer, also known as AlphaDelta, has signed a masterpiece of its kind.
