Highlanders recruitable in Scotland

lol i think i know what you did youu edited the unit_tables db file didin't you and set the region to scotland right? or did you do something else

EDIT: Nope didn't work. I think you need to add them to a building too. Will look into it further though.

I think I came across how, I'll write a guide later tonight. The strange thing is highland infantry are established at least right now to be recruited by a wide range of factions like Austria and Venice, but not France and England (I suppose the Black watch & Frenchized scots unit make up for it).

its not too hard to get any unit that a faction already can recruit to be able to recruit it anywhere.

edit all the buildings that recruit for that faction and add if you can or just edit another unit to the desired one.

then go to the units file and change the region to global and done.

it should only take about 10-15 mins to do a single unit.

use the PackFileManager. if you donno how to hex edit

Just done that. didnt work

I have been able to put norweigan mountain troops in the game though. Made them recruitable for anyone who holds a northern european mountain region. Just trying to get Irish Troops in for anyone who holds ireland now.

EDIT: ehh i cant find the Euro_highlanders in the units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions.And when I try to add the entry i get an error.

You guys do realise you actually get Scottish regiments in the game in the forms of The Black Watch and the Coldstream Guards?

They come from the borders but they are not a Scottish Regiment. The only guards regiment that is Scottish is the Scots Guards.

prove me wrong but just because they were based in Scotland for a while does not mean they are scottish.

correct - they were an english force from the republic of cromwell and fought vs the scots royalist stuart sympathizers
