    Default HMS Victory?

Hi, I looked around and couldn't find an answer to this, so...

I bought the Special Forces edition, which on the back says that the edition contains "six exclusive, elite units for use in the main campaign game" (emphasis added).

Every answer I've found says that the units are present in the quick battle mode, but I'm more concerned with getting the units in the grand campaign, like it says on the back of the box.

Steam says that I have unlocked the units (I have inputted the code on the inlet sheet), but I can't seem to find them in the main game.

I'm playing as Great Britain and have maxed out my naval construction (i.e. I've built the highest naval academy and have both naval hospitals and steam drydocks), yet cannot build the HMS Victory.

Does anyone know how to get it?

It gives you the ability to rename your ship to "HMS Victory"

You might've done the same mistake as me. Register the code you find on the instructions manual, and then register the code you find on the sheet once more. It worked for me.

Did that upon purchase, still nothing.

I'd like to know this too. Me too have confirmed the unit is in quick battle mode, but I don't know when/how, it shows up in the GC. Not playing the Brits at the moment, but one day down the road I guess I have to give them a whirl too, just because.

    Hmm, dunno mate.

I also bought the special edition, but havent maxed my docks out yet as Great Britain.
    (Just need one more tech!)

Sometimes these unique units can only be built in specific places, im thinking HMS Victory might only be buildable in the London region, maybe even specifically Portsmouth Dockyards; where it resides today.
I live in Portsmouth, and have gone to see the Victory, s'quite impressive.

Anyway i wont have a definite answer until i upgrade my Docks.

Edit: On a side note, i never had to register a special code to get my units, but ive found Rogers Rangers in the campaign so far.

Lol, if not for this thread I would've never activated my special forces

Until now I just overlooked the inlet sheet and thought they were allready in game

I have seen her too, back in -71 if my memory serves me right, and indeed she a very impressive sight to behold. I need to at one time or another get to go see the USS Constitution too. She's definitely on my list of must see things before kickin' the 'ol bucket.

If you've activated the code with steam, it should be recruiteable in a steam drydock. I've had her sailing around killing every pirate she encountered for quite a while now, although she got blown up by a light galley once.

She seems only recruiteable at Portsmouth, by the way.

My wife and I visited Boston and the Constitution about 5 years ago.

What impressed me the most was how very large those sailing ships seem when you are on board, compared to their size when looking at them from shore. And the cannons seemed immense also.

Me too, and she is indeed a beauty. Much nicer than the crappy Warrior.

Yes, a very nice coincidence, though it's too bad only his last name is the same.

By the way, here she is; blown up by some stupid light galleys. Why the hell have they got 256 firepower?! Even Victory has less. She sustained more damage by 10 hits from galleys, than she did in a fight with a heavy first rate.

To get HMS Victory - you must be British, you can create it only in Portsmouth and your docks must be on latest level - no field hospital, no trade, no fishes - military. Then you can create it same as first and heavy first rates.

BTW its Elite unit, so you can have only ONE, unless you make mod to remove cap.

Odd really, considering how she was built at Chatham

Check, check, and check. Still can't recruit it!! I've activated the code about 3 times now... I can use it in quick battles, but not in the campaign!

I saw the USS Constitution last summer...didn't think it was that impressive though. They should have compared it to another boat lying next to it or something...
