    Default Cavalry and Nobles question.

    hey there,

I just installed RC mod and I see that cavalry is weaker than it once was, is the anyway I can make the cavalry better? ( maybe because im playing as scotts).
And I noticed that AI nobles have 5+ stars nobles, while my nobles have just 1 or 3 or none, I just destroyed England and my generals gained no stars. Military minded people are currently in castles and the administrative people are in the cities. Is this a bonus the AI gain? I attacked Duke Willian and he had all stars, but he never left Nottinghan.

ai gets +3 stars, in 6,2 dunno if they get more or less in rr/rc version
to gain more stars, you need to battle.pray for luck.. and win by good margin (which most of the time easy ) i never had full star generals in ss.. ( had almost always in vanilla ) but getting 5+ is rly good

Even with the nerfed cavalry they are still too powerful imo. To gain command stars win battles that you are outnumbered in. The more outnumbered you are the more likely you are to get a heroic victory.

Yeah im really good at winning heroic battles, I just got frustated because my general conquered all England and has 1 star, and my Bodyguards got ass kicked by english hobbilars.

Cavalry is not weaker, you just have to change your tactics. It has a higher charge value but less melee attack. So the best tactic is to charge, retreat, rinse and repeat. Dont get cavalry tied up in melee too much.

And yes, command stars are much harder to come by in SS than in vanilla (which made it too easy to get them). Now, you can't win a 2:1 in your favour battle and expect to get a star. Fighting against the odds will increase the chances of getting stars.

And is it like.. fighting the enemy when they are outnumbered to get negative traits?

You outnumber the AI, you win but you have a higher chance of getting a negative trait instead of a positive one?

I think if you do it often enough you can get some negative traits.

Yeah I know how to use cavalry. But when you see your Bodyguards charging a levy spearman, and getting tottaly ass kicked, and get a beating by hobbilars, you get pissed.

I saw a bunch of posts yesterday complaining their massed army of levy spearmen units were all wiped out by a single bodyguard unit ...

lol.. actually i have seen a friend of mine play a battle with just his generals unit and used it to kill off nearly an entire army of enemy spearmen. It was comical.. but you have to get those bloody paranoid schizophrenics out of your family tree somehow, so he played it all out till the very end and let the last 2 groups of enemies beat him. So they gained afew of their men back.. but not enough.. he marched in and took vienna 2 turns later.
