Default The end for Flight sim

Just as it looks as though Aces were finally going to do something to make the game interesting (add a career and a proper job market), Microsoft go and pull the rug out from under them. Typical bloody Microsoft! I mean, I prefer sims where you get to shoot at things, but no other simulator has dared to attempt to include the entire World to fly around! It got boring though, because it was just a load of disconnected flights. FS11 apparently, was going to solve that problem by finally including a career mode.

Unfortunately it's a sign of the times and a niche market (non-combat flight sims). They have add-ons you can buy for FSX that add a career mode, even a program to rate perforemance from pushback to landing. FS11 would've been nice but the system requirements (even at time of release for FSX) will be astronomically high and just like with FSX, that is pushing users away from upgrading due to performance issues and you can only funnel so much into something that you risk getting tired of and not touching ever again. FSX is awesome, maybe the last game I'll update a computer to play.

I'd like to see how my new card fares with FSX, but that'll mean having to delete a load of games from my HDD, which isn't something I want to do right now: time for a new HDD.
