    Icon1 Hellenistic cavalry

I have a couple of suggestions to make :

1)Is it possible to make the Thessalian Cavalry an AOR unit so as other hellenistic factions would be able to recruit em? (eg in Thessaly only-Central Greece). I'd also like a heavier representation of the Thessalian Cavalry cuz after all it was second only to the Companion Cavalry among greek cavalry units!
For example rename macedonian heavy cavalry to thessalian cavalry + AOR thessaly and rename current thessalian cavalry to skirmisher cavalry or sth like that

2)As a huge seleucid fan i'd like the seleucid cataphracts to be recruited only in the eastern provinces of the empire and not in provinces like asia minor, greece, egypt etc
In Asia Minor i could recruit galatian heavy cavalry (already in the game---> awesome job ) and/or cappadocian/pontic heavy cavalry , in Greece Thessalian Cavalry and in Egypt local cavalry (already done).

In conclusion, by making Thessalian,Pontic/Cappadocian,cataphract cavalry AOR units we would be able to represent the multicultural aspects of the hellenistic armies and avoid things like macedonian-thessalian recruitment in asia, seleucid cataphract recruitment in greece , bactrian horse archer recruitment all over asia and europe!!

In fact, cataphracts should be a post-marian troop

An Aspis-equipped cavalry like Lonkophoroi should be used in their place in the first periods. I don´t have readed sources speaking about cataphracts until after the 2nd Punic War; also a proto-cataphract cavalry, much like the current Bactrian Heavies, for the eastern Seleucid lands and the parthians, should be good.

Fully-armoured cavalrymen were used by Medes and Sakas before Alexander set his conquest, so they could be local cavalry units, albeit very rare & expensive, and clearly have non-Hellenistic appearance. Also the early "cataphracts" in Media had no two-handed lance, and probably used common weapons like spear and javelins.

I agree with this, the area-specifically named units should be limited to the area they are named after.
Why not give the basic militia cavalry to Macedon and make the Thessalians an AOR?

I'm all for more AOR-units that are very area specific, the more diverse an army the better It represents the difficulties of maintaining an army that's deep in enemy territory if you have to rely on AOR-units.

Why not making Medes a standard Parthian unit that becomes AOR with the reforms for Parthia? Cataphracts could then still be standard to Parthia (during the entire game) and AOR to the Seleucid empire (only post-marian).

Making these simple changes in the hellenistic cavalry rosters will bring this mod closer to perfection Adding more AOR cavalry units will increase the strategic gameplay depth as well as the difficulty of the campaigns. Don't forget that even Aetolian Heavy cavalry played a particular role in the eventual defeat of the Macedonian Kingdom in the battle of Cynoscephalae (roman allies-most roman cavalry in the battle)

I was about to suggest a "Xystophoroi Mercenaries" unit, that should include Aetolians, Ionians and Diadochiç s armies veterans....also it woul be nice to have one civilized heavy cavalry mercenary unit.
