    Default Help! unit renaming and other editing.

    I was wondering if someone can help me with renaming the scythian units into sarmatian units. i need directions as to how to do it. also if i could get some advice on how to combine the four roman factions into one then that would be great!

    Not to difficult

    Go to the export_descr_unit.txt in data folder , and there search for the scythians unit (for instance , use search button and term 'scythia')

    You should see something like this :

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    type barb peasant scythian
    dictionary barb_peasant_scythian ; Barbarian Peasants
    category infantry
    class light
    voice_type Light_1
    soldier barb_peasant, 60, 0, 0.7
    attributes sea_faring, hide_improved_forest
    formation 1.2, 1.8, 2.4, 2.4, 6, horde
    stat_health 1, 0
    stat_pri 1, 0, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, knife, 25 ,1
    stat_pri_attr no
    stat_sec 0, 0, no, 0, 0, no, no, no, none, 25 ,1
    stat_sec_attr no
    stat_pri_armour 3, 1, 0, leather
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 2
    stat_ground 2, -2, 3, 2
    stat_mental 0, low, untrained
    stat_charge_dist 30
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 150, 100, 20, 30, 150
    ownership scythia

    Here , you shouldn't change anything .. this is just a lookup for the internal names (that means that these are the namers the game reads , but not necessarily the ones the game shows )

    Now go to export_units.txt in the data/text folder ..

    Here , search for the internal name , as listed in Export_descr_units (the prvious folder) The name they use in export_units is the one after 'dictionary' , and thus the one that is bold and underlined ..

    now , you should see this :

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    {barb_peasant_scythian} Barbarian Peasants - Change this to Samratian Peasant for instance -

    {barb_peasant_scythian_descr}
    Expert at Hiding in Forests\n\nPeasants are reluctant warriors, but barbarian peasants are better fighters than most: hard lives produce hard men. Numbers are useful in all armies, and forcing peasants to fight is one way of getting lots of men in the field quickly and cheaply. They have little tactical sense, and even less willingness to fight - they would rather be defending their own homes than be dragged to a battle they neither care about nor understand. They are, however, experts at reading the land and hiding when there is cover.

    {barb_peasant_scythian_descr_short}
    Peasants are reluctant warriors, but barbarian peasants are better fighters than most: hard lives produce hard men.

    Now , after this line : {barb_peasant_scythian} ; change the name of Barbarian Peasant to Sarmatian Peasant , as showed before

    Save and quit .. Normally , the name should now be changed
