Default The Case of the Robbers leading the Robbers

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7944444.stm

Once again our two main villans are robbers have come on stage again. This time Nawaz Sheif, the man that syphoned money into his mills and directed cash flows into his brothers, mothers and other family members accusition, has been put under house arrest.

This was done by Zardari, the former husband of Bhutto, both of which were even bigger villians and Zaradri who is known either as mr 10% and mr 15%.

What does this mean for my great nation of Pakistan? Why, more lawyers showing their jahalat of their actions, inciting the poorer classes to start burning down stores and robbing them (this was done to my wife last december as someone stole some of the clothes that were meant for our wedding), general strikes and the halting of the economy of Pakistan.

If it wasn't bad enough that we are fighting the Afghans and the taliban in the north, these two imcompetent leaders have started their own thing, on top of which is the stupid Mumbai incident and others.

At least some good light shoudl come out of this. The MQM hopefully will drive of the Taliban and the Afghan's from Karachi and capture a majority of Sindh (thats hopeful, cause I doubt mahajirs will ever lead sindh land owners, just ask my aunt who's related to the Bhutto's) and either Imran Khan's disfunctional party along side others, hopefully a A.Q Khan lead part taking control of Pakistan.

While the A.Q Khan party idea is not really what will happen, just wishful thinking on my part. Otherwise, if the other parties do not take action, then we will either see the army with musharf taking control again (I wouldn't mind that, the Taliban issue would be solved quicker) or someone else.

In short, once again Pakistani democracy has shown it will not work, not because it is due to outside factors and all, but to put it bluntly, the untrustworthiness of the parties. We should have a Constitiunal Monarachy or an Absolute Monarchy. At least thats my dream.

Democracy in any country takes time to develop into a stable and effective system, with reliable institutions and broad public support. In Pakistan things have perhaps been a bit too volatile since 1947 for any democratic regime to last long enough for that to happen, but that doesn't mean it never will. Having another military coup every time democracy starts to go a bit wrong might be an agreeable fallback, but it's surely going to get dull one day?

Anyway, democracy's always a bit dysfunctional but what makes you think human nature would be very different under a constitutional monarchy, or that things wouldn't be dramatically worse under an absolute monarchy? Are you counting on getting to pick the monarch yourself? Or maybe some kind of... election...?

As Churchill put it: "It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.”
