Settings to the max?

I'll just get straight to it.... to those of you who are running ETW on the highest video settings across the board please tell me your specs so i know what i need to upgrade, its not like my game is running terribly slow (well actually kinda) its just that the lag is really effecting my gaming experience, and i would like to plan ahead on what i need to get. thanks in advance guys .

I run unmodded ETW with everything on ultra and 4xAA 8xAF on:

CPU: E8400 @ 3.6Ghz
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R
GPU: HIS HD4870 512Mb
RAM: 4Gb (2x2Gb) Corsair XMS2 800Mhz

But since I installed the smoke mod, increase the campaign unit multiplier and got rid of the sprites I have to knock some of the less important settings back to high.

I have all my settings on High(except my unit size; ultra)AAx4, AFx4. I could run ETW on all ultra but I have the smoke mod on and i'm thinking about getting that sprite thing. I also like when my pc loads faster

Settings a mix between high and ultra (mostly ultra). Runs fine but then crashes quite a lot which is very annoying. Really hope they fix this.

System specs: E8400, 2 GB RAM (thinking of upgrading an extra 2 gb) Ati powercolour 1GB 4870. I think I have volumetric effects turned off and to be honest I can't tell any difference.

Not sure how detailed you want this... I run everything at maximum without any sign of difficulty with the following and no tweaks, mods or overclocking:

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
Gigabyte EX58-DS4
2.70ghz Intel Core i7 920
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295
6GB DDR3 (3x 2GB DDR3 1600mhz)

I probably overshoot by a fair way though, I wouldn't recommend upgrading everything to that level to run the game on full.

Oh, HDD is just 7200rpm. It's probably the weakest link, but load times are pretty fast anyway. I've had no crashes, but no amount of processing power can fix the pathing etc.

I can't even max the game out!
I run everything at ultra, except unit size @ high and AA@4, Trillinear filtering and SSAO unchecked. Resolution is only @ 1280x1024!

And my game gets down to 10-15 FPS at 2 FULL STACK ARMIES BATTLES.
WTF?!

Is it Vista x64?


What's wrong ? :'(

Edit2: I can for instance run GTA IV with EVERYTHING maxed out and still get a steady 60 fps :S
I think it's CA's poor multi-core capabilities.

All settings on Ultra @ 1680x1050 - NO AA and X2 AF - Also disabled SSAO since it makes the smoke look really bad.

It works fairly good.

I kind of disabled some settings like distortion effects, SSAO and volumetric effects since they screw up with my drivers. Otherwise, when I was running them, they wouldn't drop much in FPS.

Dont really drop below 40fps-60 in battle all ultra all ticked 8aa 16 AF 1440 x 900 (though I have dropped grass to low now cause I dont like the look of it) no mods... never seen a CTD or lag..
