    Default Slow movement in battles?

I was wondering if it's just my (my comp) or do the men tend to move overly slow in battles, even when running. It seems that the fighting is very slow too. I don't have a bad comp, especially for MTW....but I've seen this before, just not often until this mod.

Also I always end up going into the negatives money wise, so far I've only played as Ireland, Flanders, Milan and Venice on VH/VH...and I love the challenge, it just seems a bit unrealistic that I'd get 0 gov. points and "offend the nobility" trait every time around with every king.

If you go into the red, expect to loss 1 gov. point per turn and offend the nobility trait after a couple of turns. Getting into red = no good.

Develop your economy or you will get screwed sooner rather than later.

    • Is this a negative opinion..? If yes, then you could ask about it in the Taijis battle balance. The Taiji-"workshop" is in the Mini-mod section.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Yea, I started a campaign as Kiev (best units I've seen yet by the way) and I'm doing just fine now near 1212 AD. I realized that it was mainly because I kept some units in the field when I didn't need them to be and the main thing was agents in enemy territory.

As a whole though, this is my new favorite mod for MTW2. It's actually given me a bit of a challenge, which I haven't had since the days of Shogun. The only two problems I have with it so far are CTDs and there's still some pointless backstabbing that takes place ie. ports being blockaded etc... Maybe because I play on VH/VH?

You can delete descr_battle_map_movement_modifiers file which is in your mod's data folder. Then movement speed will be like vanilla.

Or, you can modify that file for your taste.

I too think combat is rather slow since troops are so easily get exhausted compare to vanilla, so i tend to let them march slowly to the enemies which could be a pain in the butt when going uphill (i know it's realistic this way but ....).Anyways, Do you guys know where to change the stamina of troops?

That's one of the more crap bits of the engine unfortunately, there are 3 levels of stamina and stat_heat which might only work in hot climates (I'm told but have not tested) and thats it.

The levels are <blank>, 'hardy' and 'very_hardy', and they go on the 'attributes' line for each unit in the export_descr_units.txt which you'll find in dlv_ext\data.

3 levels!!! What were they thinking?!

bthizle1, maybe it has ctd'd for me but I don't remember, 6.1 seems pretty stable for me so far

The backstabbing is because you have Total war A.I [ON]. I also suspect the A.I Money support [ON]. right`?
    Allways use Vh/Vh.

Couple of turns in the game, and themn boats will leave you alone.

    btw Welcome to the forum.

    EDIT:

You mean; what files to mod? If so, go ask in Taijis BB in mini-mods.

Also, do other people get quite a few CTD's? I've played as nearly 5 factions now, and at some point or another I get at least 1 CTD (I haven't even played past 1220 yet.....).
