very wierd battle screen??

when a battle starts, the layout of the screen is very strange. for example, the battle minimap is in the topright corner, the pause, speed up, and play buttons are invisible, and unit options such as guard mode are invisible unless i move my mouse up to the top-center of the screen. anyone else encounter this?? i cant figure out how to change it back to the default.
also, how can i change it so that the marian and polybian reforms happen instantly? after i get to about 210 bc, it slows down to a crawl. so, wat the heck? might as well give myself marian units.

This is not a bug but an adjustment.It is the minimal UI option you need to change from your EB preferences.So in your computer go to : Start->All Programs->Europa Barbarorum-> Preferences. If you click on the preferences you should see a small options window,disable the minimal UI by clicking on the box near it and them press the apply button in the bottom end of the small window.
