    Default the town "Merv"

The (autonomoi) rebell town of "Merv" in northeastern Iran becomes around 554 or 553 bc a persian province. Why is this ?

It happened in my current persian campaign and also in previous campaigns, when Persia was controlled by the AI.

In all cases there was no land border toward Persia, there were baktrian and massagete (or rebell) provinces between Merv and the Persian Empire - and sometimes it was even conquered by one of them, before it switched to Persia. :hmmm:

This is an RTW thing. What happens is that the Massagetes conquer Merv, but because they're barbarians, capturing an eastern culture city causes lots of unrest. It then rebels to the faction that is of the original culture of the region, which is Persia now. Perhaps Baktria is a smarter idea, as they're closer to Merv, but it will still be weird.

Ah ... thanks, I wasnīt aware of that.

And I think itīs o.k. when they rebel to Persia, they need every province they can get when controlled by the AI.
