All those of you here talking about shooting illegal immigrants need to chill your head and rationalize. Why do they come to this country? Because there is opportunity for job. Its all supply and demand. You should all be going after the rich whites that hire these people. you cut off the demand, and the supply will disappear. If there is no jobs available for them then they would no longer come. You can not stop the flow of immigrants, its like the prohibition, as long as there is demand there will be supply. But so few of you ever talking about shooting the employer (because they are like you, white people?), they are as guilty as the illegal immigrants for hiring them in the first place.

In my school (fairly small, even by Norwegian standards) we have one dane (currently in Portugal, exchange) one Russian, one Philipinian and probably many which I don't know who are not Norwegian. Would I ever call them anything other than Norwegian? No way! The Russian is probably the smartest at the whole school, and even though he came here as a 7 year old he speaks perfect Norwegian, like if he was born and bred here.

Then, I know of a bunch of Lithuanians and Thai's who wash. Or work at farms. Or work in factories. Why? Because there are no Norwegians who want the job, or is healthy enough.

Many seem to think that everything immigrants do is enter the country, take your job, and then never do anything more. Like their some kind of paracite who sucks up oppurtunities in a country. Well, they're not. They're just like you and me, people who want to make a living and go where the demand is.

Yep, I have no problems with the muslims. I come from a small town, after all. The muslims we have here are good and honest people, never making any trouble. (Not anymore than Norwegians, at least.) I sleep very well at night, thank you very much.

Every time I've been into one of the big cities, I haven't had any problems with your muslim menace. Sure, there are some beggars here and there, but that's it.

The problems in Oslo are big, but that's Oslo. The biggest population in the country, with a failed police force. It's way to small, and that's the biggest problem.

I'm not saying that things are perfect, but it's no way near the way you describe it. The biggest problem our capital face are Nigerian hookers, and an aphatic pathetic police force. (Both in size and skill)

So, yeah, I sleep very well at night, even if one of my neighbours are Russian, some are muslim, some are Lithanians. My biggest fear is that the local drug-addicts (read: dominately Norwegians, OH NO!) will rob our car/house.

Joke post? How are they taking our opportunities away? What by taking all of the jobs that us Americans didn't take in the first place when we were able to? Don't make that stupid welfare argument, the government gains money. We don't have to do for them, and they still pay income tax, property tax, etc. May be if we made it easier for immigrants to get into the United States legally, this wouldn't be such a big deal.
You can't get angry at somebody for wanting to escape ethnic/politcal/religious prosecution, having a better opportunitynity for their children, etc.

I was also talking about El Salvador, there are about 2 million El Salvadorans in the US, so thats why I inserted it in there. Sorry and its going to sound harsh but its not this country's job to provide better economic choices for illegal immigrants. You site is obvious slanted to a pov but it also sees half glass full thing that somehow 6% of total health care cost in LA isnt a big deal because illegals makes up 12% of the population. That is some really creative thinking to somehow justify nearly 1billion a year in LA going to caring for health needs of illegals in the area. The point is of course that is 1 billion in a state that has MAJOR, MAJOR budget problems atm. They are bleeding money and again this will sound harsh but if choices are cutting services to citizens vs illegals sorry but sol for illegals.

Obviously there's reason to be annoyed at illegal immigration but at least we have one thing to be thankful for (here in the US): assimilation. Often mexican and other latin american immigrants get a lot of crap, but you have to consider just how well they are being assimilated. Something like upwards of 90 percent of second generation latin americans (IE the children of immigrants) are fluent in english, and something like 40-50% of first generation are as well. It's certainly not bad. (i feel like I got that figure from Time Magazine...)
Learning the majority language and speaking it is a huge part of becoming a part of the country you're moving your family to.

As for illegal immigrants, well, if we hold businesses accountable for hiring illegals (by, say, requiring by law they pay all of their employees equally regardless of their status) we remove all incentive for businesses to hire immigrants illegal or otherwise over citizens. And why else do we have so much illegal immigration than it's so relatively easy for them to find jobs as businesses will just pay them less knowing it's relatively better than what they had back in their home countries, as opposed to citizens?
