    Default Unspecified Error.

I seem to be getting an unspecified error every time I try and enter the battle map. Reading through the other topics similar to this, I'm fairly sure it isn't my computer-- as I've run very large scale battles on the game before, I stopped playing it for a while and (as if it's angry I've neglected it) now it no longer works. Usually the number of units isn't that big anyway, as it's the beginning of a campaign.
    Suggestions?
    I've not "unpacked" anything.
I think I'll try doing that and then removing those two files.

Are you playing the original game? Have you installed any mods?

Retrofit. I've got a few mods, but I just made copies of the game data and modded those, so as to keep the original game. I'm just going to try unistalling and reinstalling as I've just gotten admin rights. Just tried to play a freshly installed game, without even the Kingdoms on it. Keeps getting the unspecified error when I try to go to the battle map.
This is complete B.S., I paid 30 dollars for this piece of crap and it won't work.
Actually, it appears none of my games are working. What the hell?

    Heya!

M2TW the original worked just fine for me (not patched at all), then I got Kingdoms and now the same happens with me.

I patched all right till 1.05 (i think), and nearly each and every time I want to start a battle, the loading sequance stops and I get the "Unspecified error" message. I tried with Quick Battles as well, something like 1 out of 4 results in the same way.

Moreover, now the original M2TW won't start up and this is what my log says:

You have a problem. Look at the second to last line. It's machine language, not human language. Your install is corrupted. You'll have to totally uninstall and reinstall.

Retrifit had the most unit fixes. The game is bugged battlewise and that is a known fact around the world anyplace you can play it. While you're ranting and got the blame game going what other games have you installed?
