    Default Where is the system.log?

Like most people on this forum, I'm getting my share of unspecified errors, specifically, whenever it goes to one of those little zoom in/cutscenes on the battlefield (e.g, gates/walls are destroyed, or a general dies.) I've read the sticky, and copied the [log] bit into the medieval2.preference.cfg file, other than that, I don't know what I'm supposed to expect.

    Also, I've read that deleting
    data\descr_geography_new.txt
    data\descr_geography_new.db
is supposed to help, while it says they're in the data file, I can't seem to find them.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious, thanks for any help.

The system.log.txt for the original game is in your Medieval II Total War folder. If you're getting those errors, They are purely graphic and will not show up in it.

You only have to delete these files if you have unpcked the game. It is evident you haven't as you can fight a battle.

Are you playing the original game or a mod? What version of the game? Sorry to spoil it for you but what you may have hit are some of the bugs in the game, especially battles.

Hmm, I must've done something wrong, or something. My folder looks like this.

I don't quite get what you mean here, you mean some CTDs don't show up, or I assume, create the system.log? If that's so, I'll just have to deal with these?

And aahm, I'm playing Kingdoms (Brit Campaign) with patch 1.3 at the moment - no fan made mods yet.

Follow your nose. It's probably in your mods/ Brit Campaign folder or even in its logs folder.
